Foresight Creative Group and Blackout Bands have opened up a collaboration with CRE Outreach. A group of amazingly talented individuals with a passion to create interpretive art without the use of sight. CRE Outreach is an acting group started by Greg Shane, the Founder who is partially blind.
CRE Outreach is a non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to empowering undeserved individuals from low-income populations in greater Los Angeles. CRE stands for Create, Reflect, Empower—words that encompass the process, focus, and targeted outcomes of our programs. Since 2007, CRE Outreach has utilized theatre, the performing arts, and educational programs as a means to enhance self-esteem, encourage self-expression, and empower individuals to overcome the challenges in their lives.
Through our innovative performing arts programming, CRE Outreach actively engages approximately 2,650 individuals from many diverse segments of the greater Los Angeles community (including at-risk youth, people with disabilities, and military veterans), helping them overcome the challenges in their lives and successfully navigate through today’s society. CRE Outreach confronts the many challenges that our participants face and seeks to break down the barriers that contribute to the isolation and cultural divide felt by many in these communities. Our work provides a constructive and creative forum for individuals with limited accessibility to the arts to bring issues to the forefront and let their voice be heard.
Kellan Lutz had an opportunity to attend a show in Los Angeles and was blown away by the passion and dedication of the group in the performing arts district. This evolving performance group has a number of different shows coming up in the near future. Click the link here for upcoming shows and tickets.

Sleep is something people don't think much about unless it's not going as they planned. When we approached most of our retailers with Blackout Bands, we received looks of confusion and simply the question of; "what the heck did you just hand me?" Well it took one thing to sway their opinions. Productivity. Ill touch on that shortly. The sleep mask has not been changed since the beginning of time, and everybody sleeps. The fact that it has been looked at as unacceptable to catch a power nap during the day, has changed drastically over the years.
We're coming to the rescue of your productivity! Sleep is the number one method to increase productivity (other than updated technology of course) and we have made it a point to make your work load lighter. By taking as little as a 15 minute power nap, you can increase your productivity by more than 30%. Sleep deprivation can even result in a person not even realizing that they have a loss in performance.
How often do you see businessmen and women travel to San Francisco in the morning for a presentation, and over to New York for their afternoon board meeting? Probably more than you would guess. By taking a nap at some point during the day (how about your 4 hour flight) can help you achieve a higher level of productivity and increase your value.
The most fashionable sleep mask on the planet is allowing more and more people to perform better in their day to day activities. This is one of the primary reasons why Blackout Bands are now being sold under the largest airport retailer in the world. Thats right, we said it. Hudson, which is a subsidiary of Dufry, has the largest retail presence in the most amount of airports in the world. With a global powerhouse of trending fashion and travel products, Blackout Bands are making their way to retail stores everywhere. This will give consumers an edge on the competition and make them more productive in their day to day activities.
With just passing the year and a half mark, Blackout Bands has faced an up hill battle. Taking an idea from nothing, and creating an entirely new category of stylish sleepwear has been quite a journey. With a pseudo sunglass, as well as a pseudo sleep mask, its been difficult to find a defined category. So what happens if you can't place yourself in a category? Well you simply create one!
Launching this month in Hudson News Stands, we've gone from just a cool new product, to a staple in the travel world. So why are so many people now using Blackout Bands? Kellan Lutz originally developed the idea in 2013 while flying to Canada to shoot a feature film. As a trendsetter and inventor, Kellan set out to make sure he wasn't photographed wearing a female driven fashion product. And to add, who would even think about sleep masks being feminine? As the Co-Owner of Abbot + Main, a Venice California clothing line that specializes in southern California comfort, Kellan saw a niche for sleepwear. With a female targeted Blackout Band on the horizon, Blackout Bands have evolved into something that had changed what people have been settling on for decades.
